Two homes one heart

I’m travelling around England right now, moving from place to place, following where the work takes me — and for this week, that road has led me to Devizes. It’s not home, not yet, but it’s a good place to pause, to work, and to create before moving on.

This is where I’ve been balancing two parts of my life. Most days, I’m working as a chef — long shifts, early starts, the kind of work that keeps you grounded and focused. It’s honest, physical work, and it’s given me a steady base here. But alongside that, I’ve been building something else too — Lonely Traveler Productions. And Devizes has turned out to be a surprisingly good place to do it.

I’ve found quiet corners to write, walked around the town with my camera, and discovered that even somewhere temporary can offer up plenty of stories. The canal, the market square, the views out over the Wiltshire countryside — there’s character here, and it’s been inspiring to capture. Somewhere between finishing a shift and settling down in the evening, I’ve been putting together posts, planning content, and seeing things grow. It’s a nice rhythm — practical work in the day, creative work when the day is done.

It’s also been interesting to see how this place connects to the other part of my life — the part rooted in Thailand. Being here, moving through unfamiliar streets, has made me think a lot about what “home” actually means. It doesn’t have to be one fixed spot. It can be people, memories, and the things you carry with you. That’s what I’m exploring right now — how one person can care deeply about more than one place, even when they’re not fully settled anywhere.

Tonight feels like a good moment to mark the week — a live stream, a chance to talk about all this, and then heading out into town afterwards. It’s been a productive, thoughtful few days here. Devizes has been kind, and it’s given me plenty to work with. And when I do eventually move on, I’ll take something of it with me — in the photos, the writing, and the ideas that grew up here.
