In the latest episode of All About Thailand, we turned our attention back to one of the most talked-about, misunderstood, and endlessly fascinating cities in the world: Bangkok. Even after countless visits, this city still finds new ways to surprise us — and that’s exactly why we felt it was time to talk about how Bangkok is changing, evolving, and still very much alive.

With an upcoming trip just weeks away, this episode was recorded with genuine excitement. Bangkok isn’t just a stopover or a tick-box destination — it’s a city that rewards curiosity. From world-class shopping malls to hidden street food alleys, it’s a place where modern luxury and everyday local life exist side by side.

We spent time discussing the shopping scene, from iconic malls like Terminal 21 to the smaller independent shops that give the city its character. Bangkok remains one of the best cities in Asia for shopping at every budget level, and it’s constantly adapting to new trends while keeping its unique Thai identity.

Naturally, the conversation moved into Bangkok’s nightlife — an area that often gets talked about, but not always with balance. We spoke openly about entertainment areas such as Walking Street (also known locally as Ong Ang) and Soi Cowboy, explaining what they are, where they are, and how visitors should approach them with respect and understanding. These areas are part of Bangkok’s story, but they don’t define the whole city.

A big focus of the episode was respect — respecting the people, the culture, and the reality of life in a major global city. Whether it’s bar staff, service workers, or locals just going about their daily lives, Bangkok deserves the same consideration as anywhere else in the world. Travel is always better when it’s done with awareness.

We also touched on how easy Bangkok is to navigate. Whether you’re hopping into a tuk-tuk, walking from Sukhumvit, or exploring on foot, the city opens up when you slow down and look around. Some of the best moments happen between destinations.

This episode isn’t about hype — it’s about honest conversation. Bangkok has changed, but so have we as travellers. And that’s what makes revisiting it so interesting.

If you’re planning a trip, thinking about returning, or just curious about how Bangkok feels right now, this episode offers grounded insight from people who know the city well and still genuinely love it.

As always — Stay safe love you all.
